Nomvula Felicity Mahlangu
13 March 1961 – 11 April 2016
On Monday night, we received the news of the sudden passing of one our beloved leaders, Nomvula Mahlangu.
Nomvula, a national leader of the Federation of the Urban and Rural Poor (FEDUP) has served the movement and the SA SDI Alliance for many years in Mpumalanga, nationally and internationally.
As we prepare to walk the final journey with our leader and friend we want to remember the valuable contribution made by Nomvula.
Whilst we are all still in shock and getting to terms with this sudden loss we want to remember her for her outstanding qualities and characteristics, as a charismatic leader, focussed and passionate about the Federation, the movement and savings, in particular. We remember her for her constant openness and honesty during very difficult times and tough conversations. We celebrate her cheerfulness, her sense of humour, her ability to love unconditionally and for being the motherly figure in the Federation, always ready to forgive and start afresh.
She will be missed by her fellow leaders and colleagues who had the privilege to work with her throughout her engagement with the Alliance. We thank her family, and especially her children who allowed their Mum to spend so much time and energy with the Federation since the early 2000s.
Nomvula, you have run a good race, and now GOD has called you to greater glory.
May you find eternal rest.
With all our love,
On behalf of the SA SDI Alliance
